Objectives and materials
1. Objectives
This project considers that using PBL and active
learning techniques is crucial in an up-to date learning environment, since
they provides the ability for students to be immersed into pseudo-real world
scenarios, thus encouraging them to take more responsibility for their own
learning and apply their knowledge at successively higher levels, which are
some of the aims of higher education (lifelong learning).
For the overall reasons, four objectives were set
regarding this topic:
1. Each Jordanian
partner university chooses AT LEAST one geodesy course for testing PBL
in fall semester 2019 or spring semester 2020. Minimum number of face-to-face
hours of the PBL activity: 20.
2. Jordanian staff
makes preparations together with students, including dividing student groups,
definition of problems and roles, assessment.
3. Students take
the course using the method of PBL (fall semester 2019 or spring semester 2020).
4. At the end of
the course, an evaluation is made among teachers and students to (a) compare
with traditional teaching methods, (b) review what the advantages of PBL are;
(c) identify what is not good with PBL.
2. Deliverables/results/outcomes from the workshop & WP 6
3. Materials
4. Templates to use during the workshop (PBL)
